Once again, Patron’s Day was a very successful day of good tennis on a perfect day.

We had 24 players trying to accumulate enough points to win the Laurie Bruhl trophy.  Games were played for 5 periods of 25 minutes with short breaks in between and scores recorded.

The winners this year, were Henry Plint and Cherie Lau.

Laurie also donates two fruit trays to raffle and they were won by Annette Adsett and Leon Nguyen.  Not only did we have players, but we had lots of other visitors to wish Laurie well.

Both Adam Spence and Andrew Ash came, as well as Brad Mulrooney, Lloyd and Jim Cole.

Thanks to Subway for the catering as well as the players who also bought food.  The Patron’s Day is an early celebration of Laurie’s birthday.

This year, Laurie turns 91.  He still plays one or two sets most Tuesdays and Thursdays. Unfortunately, this year, we didn’t have any juniors joining in.

We welcome players of all ages at the Coolum Tennis Club functions.

With school holidays coming up, junior and ladies daytime fixture teams have a break.  If you wish to hire a court during the holidays, please ring Andrew on 0421391505 as the courts can get busy.

You can also ring that number if you wish to enrol your child or yourself in a holiday program.

Any visitors are welcome to join in the Social Tennis on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7.30am, Sunday from 8.00am and Wednesday night from 7.00pm.

There are a number of players interested in Wednesday night, but they need to contact  Rob Ninnes
